What do you consider the essential elements of the perfect place to watch the annual sports spectacular known as March Madness?
If you answered great food, great beverages and big screens, then Waikiki Beach Walk is a slam dunk for the best place for you to watch March Madness.
In fact it’s so good, we call it March Gladness. Here's why.
Great Food
Basketball and pizza have a lot more in common than you think. The obvious being that they are both round, and especially in the context of this story, they make a good pair.
But at Giovanni Pastrami New York Style Deli, Pizzeria and Sports Bar, they go beyond being a good match to a
fantastic one, because not only does Giovanni Pastrami serve Round Table pizza, considered the best pizza in Waikiki, it is also one of the best sports bars in Waikiki.
Thereby making Giovanni Pastrami one of the best places in Waikiki to specifically watch March Madness.
This includes more than 20 big screens in an intimate setting with a fabulous selection of over 20 beers on tap, many of them local brews. Plus a sports-perfect menu far beyond the aforementioned best pizza in Waikiki that also includes the best Pastrami sandwich in Waikiki (they wouldn’t have put it into their name if it weren’t so).
Two more reasons Giovanni Pastrami New York Style Deli Pizzeria and Sports Bar is a great place to watch March Madness is 1) They are open for breakfast, and 2) They have fabulous desserts to make your celebrations (if your team won) or consolation (if they lost) so much better. And if all that isn’t enough to turn your madness into gladness, you get to enjoy live music after the games.
Which basically is another way to say: This is the perfect place to watch March Madness.
Great Beers
Featuring over 100 taps of draft beer, we decided to count up the brew options waiting for you to help enjoy the tournament. Frankly, after tallying 20 IPAs, 2 Seasonals, 18 lagers, ales & pilsners, 2 Sours, 6 Wheats, we gave up counting.
So not even counting the multiple Amber/Darks, ciders, seltzers, and traditional American light brews, along with new zero-alcohol products from the likes of Sam Adams and Heineken, Yard House has to be considered the grandest sports bar in which to enjoy something as immense as March Madness, which starts out with 68 teams (with a factor of 100 times that of fans) competing simultaneously over a 3-week period.
In other words, big meets its match.
Making it even more appropriate, Yard House has their traditional IPA Madness event going on during the tournament, where you can get a flight of four IPA to taste test for 10 bucks, and pick one for a full pint all for just $5 more.
Sales and requests will determine the winner in the Yard House IPA Madness bracket, and for 2025, the contenders are:
- Founder’s Mortal Bloom Hazy IPA
- Oskar Blues Dale’s American IPA
- Boulevard Space Camper Juice Nova IPA
- Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA
Don’t forget to pair them up with delectable Yard House appetizers and entrees that will have you cheering even if (when) your bracket is busted.
