Tricks and Treats are Both Exceptional at Waikiki Beach Walk

October 16, 2024

A skeleton wearing orange lei doing a shaka on its right hand. The background is of Waikiki Beach Walk store fronts.
Without question, the most familiar catchphrase of Halloween is “Trick or treat!”

It won’t shock anyone to find out that most people prefer the treats. However, at Waikiki Beach Walk the tricks and treats are both delightful.

First up... the tricks

A dark escape room with blue lights and glow-in-the-dark highlights. The screen reads "WARNING." The picture is overlaid with a key-like logo that reads "Breakout Waikiki."
To describe getting out of one of Breakout Waikiki’s escape rooms as “tricky” is an understatement. Depending on the room, it runs from “challenging,” to “extremely difficult,” all the way to “let’s just go have a drink.”

That choice of challenges is why Breakout Waikiki is Waikiki’s #1-rated escape room.

This is where you can jump into an exhilarating adventure in your choice of one of six unique and absorbing immersive escape room puzzles that will ignite your sense of adventure and allow you to unleash your inner detective.

And for Halloween, two of the six rooms have been specially decked out with spooky clues and visuals that make them perfect for any Halloween parties you are in the midst of planning.

But that’s not all. For the month of October, Breakout Waikiki is offering a special “Half Price Wednesday” deal! Just book online and use promocode 50OFFWED.

We want to make sure to point out that the added Halloween touches do NOT include any “jump scares.” Making sure you’ll only have your wits challenged, not scared out of you.

A tricky situation

Two pillows on couch. The pillow in front has a design that features an orange background and a pineapple that is carved like a Halloween pumpkin. The pillow behind it has a bat-pattern design with black tassels on the corners. The picture is overlaid with a logo that reads "SoHa Living."
Tastefully decorating for the holidays is usually a snap. But let’s face it, there’s nothing nuanced about Halloween, creating a real challenge for those with a little more style and elegance who want to get in on the fun.

To put it another way, it’s tricky to decorate for a day that celebrates the dead.

SoHa Living happens to specialize in good taste and whimsy, and to the delight of folks who want to celebrate with sophistication, they also love Halloween. Which makes SoHa Living the perfect place for you to find décor with wit, elegance and fun.

From clever signs to amusing accessories, SoHa Living will not only be tickling your all-hallows October funny bone, but all the other ones in the skeleton.

And for all the other months of the year, too.

So come in for the dead, but stay for living. SoHa Living.

And now for the treats

A glass of beer with a logo that reads "Yard House." There are mini pumpkins in the background. There is a circular logo at the top left that reads "House Ale, Pumpkin Spice." The text below reads "IT'S PUMPKIN BEER SEASON," "YARD HAUS OKTOBERFEST."
Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more products flavored with pumpkin spice this time of year, we give you ...beer.

Straight from the pumpkin patch (and the creative folks at Brewery Ommegang) Yard House jumps into the pumpkin spice game with their new House Pumpkin Spice Ale.

While there might be a debate for some as to whether that qualifies a bona fide “treat,” there’ll be no questioning that the Yard House menu for October certainly is.

You see, it’s officially Octoberfest at Yard House, and as a restaurant that is pretty serious about beer (having over 100 taps), you can bet this time of the year ranks pretty high on their calendar, and they pull out all the stops. Especially for their food.

So while you get to sample fabulous Octoberfest-special brews like Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest and Paulaner Oktoberfest, two of the only six brews allowed at the Munich Oktoberfest (long considered the Ground Zero of Octoberfest), you also get to peruse a deliciously creative menu that compliments them.

Like a Biergarten Brat Pizza, with sliced beer bratwurst, caramelized onions, kale, mozzarella, parmesan,  red chipotle chili, or the mouth-watering Bier Brat Sliders. Three mini beer brats with caramelized onions, pretzel roll, beer cheese, horseradish mustard, and accompanied with malt vinegar & aioli fries.

Coming back to the beer, Yard House helps you celebrate with their super Stein Special: Buy a Yard House Octoberfest stein (suitable for collecting) for $15, then get a daily refills for only $5 from then on. The steins are available while supplies last, but the refills run through Octoberfest.

And this might be the best part: While Octoberfest granddaddy Munich Germany celebrates for 16 days, Yard House goes for 35, meaning you can grab these treats from now until October 27.

Out of the box treating
A plate of pineapple-shaped cookies of different flavors. The box behind the plate features a pineapple shape dressed as a ghost and a pineapple shaped jack-o-lantern.

OK, when you’re looking at mug of pumpkin spice beer, it’s tough to argue that this whole pumpkin spice thing has gotten a little out of hand.

But you certainly can’t argue that the Honolulu Cookie Company would be foolish not to have them. Especially when they are already the most popular and tastiest local cookies in Waikiki.

So in a sea of pumpkin spice, you’ll know you’ll be getting the absolute best pumpkin spice cookies at Honolulu Cookie Company.

Better yet, you’ll be able to treat folks with this delicious morsel packaged up in a special
Halloween Treat Box.

Coming with the charming box is your opportunity to gift a scrumptious assortment of Hawaii’s best cookies (and yes, you can include some pumpkins). The spooktacular gift box has five hauntingly delightful flavors, each baked to perfection. The assortment includes the aforementioned best-in-show pumpkin (one plain and one dipped in white chocolate), along with  an HCC signature Butter Macadamia; Chocolate Chip Macadamia, and Chocolate Dipped Macadamia.

Elevate your Halloween festivities with the buttery and crunchy goodness of Honolulu Cookie Company's premium shortbread cookies, and make your treating with style.
