WAIKIKI, HONOLULU, HAWAII – Outrigger Hotels and Resorts is celebrating the 70th annual Aloha Festivals with a full day of live Hawaiian music and hula performances, as well as cultural activities. This year, visitors and kama`aina can meet the Aloha Festivals Royal Court and enjoy Outrigger Day at Waikiki Beach Walk®, featuring Hawaiian music and dance by Blaine Kia and Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie accompanied by the Kekaniwai Hawaiian Serenaders.“Hawaiian culture is deeply infused into Outrigger’s corporate culture; we’re pleased to help share and perpetuate the traditions of the islands through our hosts, at our hotels/resorts and at events like Aloha Festivals,” said Luana Maitland, ambassador of aloha for Outrigger Enterprises Group.

Aloha Festivals Royal Court Processions – Friday, September 16, 2016, 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Since the first Aloha Festivals in 1946, The Royal Court has served as a symbol of Hawaiian heritage passed down through generations of Hawaiians. This year’s court will be making appearances at Outrigger branded and affiliated properties for picture taking with the public.

Outrigger Day at Waikiki Beach Walk® – Friday, September 16, 2016, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to celebrate Aloha Festivals, Outrigger style in an afternoon packed with Hawaiian cultural activities. The event will begin with the Ku Ha`aheo show featuring Hawaiian music and dance by Blaine Kia and Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie, accompanied by the Kekaniwai Hawaiian Serenaders. The 2016 Aloha Festivals Royal Court will make an appearance and the show will conclude with Outrigger Hotels and Resorts’ executives and staff presenting offerings to the court. Hand-made crafts will also be on display.
